Applying Policy to an Endpoint Profile v5

How to apply a Policy to a specific Endpoint Profile and then to an Endpoint.

For ZeroLock Management Console versions before v5, please use this link.

Endpoint Profiles ensure that the desired protections and settings are as intended for a specific endpoint or endpoint group. Policies allow the grouping of rules at an endpoint.  Instead of applying rules individually, applying a policy to an endpoint profile ensures the policy is applied correctly.

    1. To apply a policy to an endpoint, the policy must first be applied to an Endpoint Profile. Navigate to the Manage Endpoints > Profiles > Endpoint Profiles page and select Add New Profile.

    2. On the New Endpoint Profile pop-up menu, you can configure exactly what actions ZeroLock will take for each protection engine. Here, settings can be fine-tuned for Ransomware, Cryptojacking, and Tampering protection, as well as for all Hash Rules set to deny based on an SHA-256 hash.

To apply a policy to an endpoint, the policy must first be applied to an Endpoint Profile. After naming and providing a description, navigate to the Default Control Policy block and, from the drop-down menu, select the policy you created. Only one policy may be applied to an Endpoint Profile at a time. When finished, select the CREATE button at the bottom of the menu.Step_2_Endpoint Profile_v5.1.x_KB
    3. After creating a new endpoint profile, you are returned to the Endpoint Profiles page, where you see the policy profile you created.
