How To Modify Policy Rules

Instructions on modifying a single rule or a group of rules.

Instead of creating a new rule or group of rules, you can simply modify an existing one. In this example, the Network Rule 11 response setting is to Do Nothing when triggered. We want to change the response to Suspend the triggering activity. To do this follow these steps. 

  1.  Select the rule to be modified from the Policy Rules page (Rule 11). Notice that the Response Type is Do Nothing. Step_1_Select Rule to Modify
  2. Under the Actions drop-down menu select Modify Rule.Step_2_Modify Rule Selection
  3. Selecting Modify Rule brings up the Modify Policy Rule screen. From the SETTING drop-down menu select Response Type.

  4. From RESPONSE TYPE menu select SUSPEND
    Note: The default setting is always Do Nothing even if the current setting is set to something else.

  5. Select Submit to complete the rule modification.Step_5_Submit
  6. To verify that the modification has been made, select Rule 11 and see that the Response Type has changed from Do Nothing to Suspend.Suspend v3.1.5

To modify a group of rules, select the rules to be modified then follow steps 2 through 6.
